Minecraft blog week 7 - Final week!

This week, we had done some great work; I did a lot more underwater bridges, I went really well on the roads, we went to survival for quite a while, I made my home/base (Seriously, I needed one!) , got my items, food, and tools in an ender chest to take with me, and I made my video. At the end, we came over to the Cathedral Square, where that build group made a huge christmas tree, seeing as it was christmas, with different coloured glass panes, a redstone contraption and lamps at the panes, which made it light up, and fireworks pop out. The funny bit was; the firework launchers (dispensers) were out of ammo for the video! Oh, and some of us committed suicide up to 4 times! Not me, though. Anyway, this whole term of fun minecrafting has come to an end, but the world? I wonder if maybe Mr Scurr can ask Danny for a copy of the world.

Minecraft Blog Week 6

We have had great progress in week 6. I finally finished a bridge, and did a couple more bridges (yay!) , started on the roads, and we went to survival for a bit, with no-one dying, and my bridges work really well, I experienced. (The funny bit was; in survival, I got really hungry, and couldn't sprint! Luckily, I found gary-george, and he gave me 8 cooked chicken! LOL) So, everything was going pretty good....... until the server crashed and all video footage today got lost! That was when Thomas was doing his video. I actually felt bad for him! But at least everything went fine in the end.

Minecraft blog week 5

Sure, we've gotten the going fast, but I'm not going as good as I thought it would be. I still haven't finished 1 bridge, 'cause I'm making other ones, looking around the place, so it's been a bit hard for me to keep on track. I also had to make a simple bridge so the animals could get over the water. I don't think I'll be able to complete even half of my progress{; If we had unlimited time and finished the city, I wouldn't even do half the amount of that much progress, is what I mean.) at the end.

Minecraft blog Week 4

Week 4 was really good.
We started to set up some beacons to let others know where we are,
used them for a speed buff, and made good progress. Sadly, we got griefed by another school, including my bridges. So I had to do them all over again, and I had to make a basic one cause one of us on a horse has to pass through. But I got up to date again, just not with my one to the farm. What I did do is start some roads from the hotel, and I'm gonna make a railway system.
But still, we've made some good progress. I'm happy about it!

Minecraft Blog Week 3

Term 3 was pretty good; There was more room around our room, I made a bridge over to the farm, and our world was really coming together. The only downside for me is that I wasn't able to finish my goal; to finish at least 1 bridge and get some more going. I got asked to make a bridge to the farm, but I couldn't finish that one or the other bridge that I was working on.

We have really been doing a good job, I think. We've been using the chat box quite often, looking at our landscape in our world ( even inter-dimensionally; someone went to the nether!) , asking for help, giving tutorials, and doing a 'very high standard' of our builds.
Overall, we're doing pretty good!

Minecraft Blog Week 2

Week 2 has been, and honestly, I think we did better progress than last time. We did some planning on paper, I changed my bridges to make them go underwater (and so you could see down under) but it was 2 blocks below so fish and squids go still go through.

We made a padlet about how our session went. Down below is what I said.
It's definitely true what I said, as my underwater bridges were hard to make, due to all the water inside. You were walking on Nether quartz blocks and stairs, while glass walls and roofs let you see all the fishy and stuff like that, with some glowstone on the ceiling and floor. Soon I'm gonna encourage
gary-george to use the same style build.

What everyone else said is down below. (It's interactive; just like you're on padlet.com

Minecraft Blog Week 1

In week 1, our first shot, it went pretty well. We did a few things before we got there, including:
  • Setting up our build ideas and groups for them ( all are on the 'Wants and Needs T-chart' pic below)

  • Thought where we would place our needs at our land
  • Made a line of 10 being the most confident and 3 being the least confident, so groups could be fair in minecraft intelligence
  • Planned what and how we could include in our builds e.g. a kitchen for the hotel
  • Figured we'd make a minecraft treaty, and if we broke a rule out of the treaty, there would be consequences
  • Started up our world, had a quick play, mess, and look around, then began the building!

I'm really happy we're able to do this, 'cause I'm the #1 fan of minecraft, and I've always wanted to play in a multiplayer world and build with others like this!
